Deputy Chairman and Head, Ultra-High-Net-Worth Clients

As deputy chairman and head of global ultra-high-net-worth clients, Wayne Bossert builds RBC’s market profile and supports RBC’s top enterprising families. He leads a team focused on strategic ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients and provides oversight to Private Banking in Canada and Asia.

Wayne joined RBC in 1987 in Alberta. Prior to his first executive appointment in 1999 as vice president, Sales Strategy, he held various administrative, human resource management and sales leadership roles throughout the Prairies, Montreal and Toronto.

In August 2001, Wayne was appointed regional president, Atlantic Provinces, where he was responsible for RBC’s overall business lines in the region.

He returned to Toronto in November 2005 as senior vice president, Service Delivery, leading after-sales servicing and centralized fulfillment operations for Canadian personal and business clients.

Wayne served as executive vice president, Retail Operations, and was a member of the Group Operating Committee charged with day-to-day management of RBC globally. Most recently, he was executive vice president and head of sales, responsible for leading RBC’s personal and business sales force of 30,000 people across Canada.

Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Wayne graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1987, and earned a Fellowship in the Institute of Canadian Bankers in 1998. In 2001, he earned a diploma in the International Masters Program in Practicing Management from France’s INSEAD University. He also holds a Master in Management Studies from McGill University.

Wayne and his wife, Janice, have three children and reside in Mississauga, Ontario.

He’s a director of RBC Global Asset Management, Royal Trust Corporation and RBC Dominion Securities. Wayne is past chair of Trillium Health Partners in Mississauga and chairs the Audit & Finance Committee of the Brain Canada Foundation.
