Kent McClanahan is a vice president and the head of Content Strategy & Responsible Investing, Global Investments & Trading. He leads responsible investing efforts—including environmental, social and governance (ESG) and impact investing—in coordination with colleagues across the organization. His responsibilities in this role are advisor and client education, thought leadership and due diligence across several investment types.

He started in the financial services industry in 2005. Prior to joining RBC Wealth Management, he was an analyst at Defined Contribution Advisors, where his primary responsibilities were manager of due diligence and constructing retirement plans. In his previous role at RBC Wealth Management, Kent was a member of the Global Manager Research team, working alongside investment managers in the responsible investing space.

Kent holds a Master of Business Administration from the Kenan-Flager Business School from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in business and history from Concordia College. Kent has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Minnesota.
